Operation of Weighing device

Assemble the hydrostatic weigher

a) Put the jewel basket support on the weighing pan of the balance and put it firmly;

b) Place the metal bridge bracket on the weighing pan of the balance, and pay attention to the metal bridge not to touch the weighing pan and the jewel basket bracket;

c) Put the water cup with distilled water on the metal bridge support, and be careful not to touch the jewel basket support;

d) Put the jewel hanging basket on the top of the jewel hanging basket support, make the jewel hanging basket hang down to the inside of the glass, make sure that the water is submerged in the jewel hanging basket, if there is little water, please repeat this step after adding water, pay attention to the jewel hanging basket not to touch the wall of the glass ；

e) After the hydrostatic weigher is assembled, the density test can be carried out.

Clean the gems, place the gems on the top of the gem basket with tweezers, measure and record the weight of the gems in the air;

Remove the gemstone with tweezers, put the gemstone in the gemstone hanging basket in the liquid, measure the weight of the gemstone in the liquid, and record it;

Calculate the density of the gem according to the formula.

Attention

When assembling, it must be noted that the metal bridge bracket cannot touch the weighing pan and the gem basket bracket, the water cup does not touch the gem basket bracket, and the gem basket does not touch the wall of the water cup, otherwise the measured data will be inaccurate;

When measuring the density of a gemstone in a liquid, make sure that there are no bubbles on the surface of the gemstone, otherwise the measured data will be inaccurate;

Be careful to avoid spilling liquid to prevent liquid from entering the balance and damaging the balance.
